Minneapolis-based Target is the latest company to cut ties with cooking guru Paula Deen, after a lawsuit deposition showing she’d used a racial epithet in the past was made public.
Target said it will stop selling Deen’s cookware and other items when the current stock runs out.
Earlier, Wal-Mart dropped Deen, as has the Food Network and other companies.
Still, her upcoming book: “Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up” is listed as the No. 1 book on Amazon.com this morning, even though it won’t be released until October.
The racial slur revelation came in a deposition Deen gave in a lawsuit filed by a former manager of Deen’s restaurants in Savannah, Ga., accusing Deen and her brother of sexual and racial harassment.
On NBC’s “Today Show” Wednesday, SHE gave a tearful, rambling apology and said she’s not a racist.
