Military veterans from around Minnesota will appear at the state Capitol Monday for the annual Veterans Day on the Hill event.
Featured will be a 10 a.m. ceremony in the Capitol rotunda, with the presentation of colors and remarks, followed by pre-scheduled meetings with legislators to discuss veterans’ issues.
Organizers urge those attending to: “Wear your hats, colors or insignias so you are easily recognized.”
Sponsors include:
- Minnesota Commanders’ Task Force (CTF)
- United Veterans Legislative Council
- Minnesota Association of County Veterans Service Officers
- Minnesota Department of Veteran Affairs
The CTF legislative agenda includes streamlining of certification of veteran-owned businesses, a military-pension tax exemption and a change so that veterans with 100 percent service-connected disabilities can take advantage of the motor vehicle registration tax exemption.
