This morning's Daily Glean had a bit of sport with state Sen. Dick Day, who's running for Congress yet opposes a legislative initiative to let dogs sit with owners in outdoor cafés. "Dick — you're running for Congress; can an anti-dog platform help?," we asked.
A Star Tribune reader almost immediately proved our point. Reporter Jon Tevlin was greeted this morning by a deep-baritoned voicemail:
"This is Clyde. I'm readin' your story about Rover bein' able to be at the table. Dick Day say he doesn't want to set next to a dog. Well, I'd rather set next to a damn dog than him, and some of these other son-of-a-bitches who hate animals so much. Thank you and have a good day."
