In the eyes of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, DFLer Steve Sarvi is "emerging" in his 2nd District congressional race against incumbent Republican John Kline.
That doesn't mean financial help from the DCCC just yet, but it does mean that the Washington crowd does believe that Sarvi has a chance to win. If he continues to show strength, the DCCC said Sarvi could graduate to its "Red to Blue" program, which would mean all sorts of assistance for his campaign, including cash.
Moving into the "emerging race'' category will help Sarvi in his own fundraising efforts, said campaign spokeswoman Bridget Cusick.
A few weeks ago, Ashwin Madia received "Red to Blue" status in his 3rd District race against Republican Erik Paulsen.
