    D.C. group asks Senate ethics panel to review Coleman's housing arrangement

    A Washington-based organization, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, today asked that the Senate Ethics Committee review Sen. Norm Coleman's rental arrangement for his $600-a month housing near the Capitol. Following up on charges made Monday by the DFL, CREW questions whether the Minnesota Republican is paying his landlord and friend, Jeff Larson, fair market value for the space.

    The Coleman campaign responded that CREW is "an attack dog'' for the Democratic Party.

    CREW denied that charge,  pointing out that it recently asked the Senate ethics panel to investigate mortgage deals that went to two Democratic senators, Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad. — Doug Grow
