    Rain or shine, Sen. Barack Obama will give his acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High, according to Democratic convention officials quoted by the Denver Business Journal. Officials did leave an out in the case of "severe weather."

    What to do with an unpopular president at convention time? "GOP Convention Planners Want Bush Out of the Picture," reports U.S. News & World Report online in its "Campaign 2008" report. The solution: "Give the president a first-night speech, and then get him out of town before McCain arrives," it says.
