Starting today, we'll see banners welcoming the 45,000 visitors to the Republican National Convention. More than 600 of the banners will be hung on street poles in Minneapolis and St. Paul and at the airport.
The first ones went up with fanfare this morning, at 9 a.m. in Minneapolis, on Hennepin Avenue between Sixth and streets. An hour later, the banners went up on the streets around St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center, official home of the convention.
Airport banners, along with floor decals in the terminal area, will be installed Monday. – Joe Kimball
