    It's CivicFest bargain time for 5,000 early birds

    Bargain time: The first 5,000 people to attend the CivicFest exhibit at the Minneapolis Convention Friday morning will get in free. Admission is usually $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and active-duty military personnel.

    The festival is billed as a way for locals to participate in the Republican National Convention hoopla, as well as an attraction for out-of-town delegates and visitors.

    It opens at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Check out our preview of the nonpartisan festival here.
