    Sports 'battleground': McCain, Obama targeting Saturday's Gopher-Buckeyes game

    Giving new meaning to "battleground" states, Saturday's football game between the University of Minnesota and Ohio State on the Big Ten Network will also be a scrum between John McCain and Barack Obama.

    If you've been watching any sports event on TV recently, particularly Twins and Vikings games, you know that both the presidential and U.S. Senate campaigns are buying lots of time to reach that key demographic: spittin', scratchin' and swearin' men.

    This Wall Street Journal article explains it all while focusing on this Saturday's Gophers-Buckeyes contest.
