In Rochester at the first of two state stops today, Michelle Obama called for new solutions to the nation's problems, saying, "The old ways just won't do," the Star Tribune reported.
The wife of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama addressed a lunchtime rally at the Taylor Arena of the Mayo Civic Center before heading for a 4 p.m. rally at Macalester College in St. Paul. The free event there will be at the Leonard Center. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Later this week, Todd Palin, husband of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, is planning a two-day visit to the Iron Range and northwestern Minnesota. The schedule calls for stops Thursday in Bemidji, Duluth and Grand Rapids. Friday visits are set for Moorhead and Thief River Falls.
