As expected, U.S. District Judge Michael Davis has blocked Minnesota from enforcing a prohibition on exit polling within 100 feet of a polling place's front doors.
According to the Associated Press — which, along with the major TV networks, brought suit to overturn the restrictions — Davis issued a preliminary injunction this morning.
The upshot? Exit pollers can hang out as close to the doors as they want, unless the plaintiffs make some sort of side deal with the Secretary of State's office. Existing and still-standing laws prevent pollsters from querying voters inside polling places.
