    ‘Intermodal’ transit station pondered for downtown Minneapolis

    Officials from Minneapolis and Hennepin County -- along with property owners, neighborhood organizations and businesses -- are talking this week about building an "intermodal station" in downtown Minneapolis, which would handle light rail, buses and taxis.

    The discussions will culminate with a Friday meeting in the Hennepin County boardroom at 1 p.m. That’s when the Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority -- the Board of Commissioners in disguise -- gets a briefing on a concept plan, which will include ideas about where the station might be located and how it might function.
