The issue of whether alleged duplicate ballots exist and how to handle them was set aside this morning by the State Canvassing Board.
The Coleman campaign has alleged -- and been supported by at least one local elections official -- that some votes were counted twice in the recount.
But the board this morning unanimously agreed that making such a determination isn't its administrative function.
"The remedy lies elsewhere," said Supreme Court Justiice G. Barry Anderson, meaning in the courts, if and when Coleman would contest the recount's outcome.
For now, all votes, even those the Coleman side believes are duplicates, will be examined by the board like any other challenged ballot.
