Bloomington City Council Member Steve Peterson gets a new leadership position with the National League of Cities -- he'll be chair of the Information Technology and Communications Policy and Advocacy Committee in 2009.
It's one of the national group's seven standing committees.
The new year is expected to be an interesting time for municipal organizations with the economic crunch cutting into tax revenues. President-elect Obama, however, plans a massive recovery project with lots of local projects.
