Three Minnesota politicians received political donations tied to yet another Ponzi-schemer, says the Minnesota Independent, which seems to have picked up the story from OpenSecrets.org.

The story notes that the national party committees, particularly the Democrats,  got most of the donations from the Stanford Financial Group, now accused of fraud in the sale of about $8 billion of high-yielding certificates of deposit held in the firm's bank in Antigua. But President Obama got some, too, as did Congressional members of both parties.

The Minnesota trio -- none of whom are now in office -- are Ashwin Madia ($2,300), who lost in a race for Congress, former Sen. Rod Grams ($1,000) and senator-in-Limbo Norm Coleman ($1,000), according to the stories.
