    Roseville library to close for major renovation; temporary site will open in May two miles away

    Ramsey County's Roseville libary will close March 31 for a year of expansion and renovation. It's just not big enough to accommodate the demand for books and other materials.

    During the first month of construction, Roseville area patrons will have to use other libraries until a temporary site opens May 2 at 2680 Arthur St., near Fairview Avenue and County Road C, just north of Rosedale. It will house about 80 percent of the library's collection.

    The Dunn Bros. coffee shop inside the library will remain open through April.

    The bright red library at the corner of Hamline and County Rd. B is part of the Ramsey County library system. It opened in 1993 and is called the busiest library in the state.

    The expanded library is scheduled to reopen in spring 2010.
