She opposes the stimulus, but Minnesota's 6th District Rep. Michele Bachmann likes other pro-growth economic policies and has again been awarded the Spirit of Enterprise Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, meaning she supported the group's position at least 70 percent of the time.
“Last year in particular, Congress had to make some tough choices, and Representative Bachmann demonstrated her commitment to the economy and keeping America competitive in an ever-changing global market,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber.
The annual award typically honors many dozens of House and Senate members.
"It is such an honor to receive this award," said Bachmann. “The Chamber of Commerce is a tremendous organization and an important ally in the fight for fundamental reform in Washington. I look forward to working with the Chamber in the continuing fight to create a less complex, less burdensome tax code; to spur entrepreneurship; and to build a vibrant economy."
The Republican congresswoman has received this award each year she’s been in Congress.
