    Red Cross beefs up flood presence

    The American Red Cross is sending reinforcements to the Red River Valley flood zone to operate shelters for those being evacuated.

    A spokesperson said 150 additional volunteers are headed that way to assist the 85 already on the ground, according to reports in the Fargo Forum.

    The group has shelters Grand Forks, Bismarck and Fargo in North Dakota and in Moorhead, Minn.

    Among the volunteers are specialists in logistics, mental health and disaster medicine.
