    Hennepin County's State of the County address is Thursday

    Hennepin County Board Chair Mike Opat will deliver the 2009 State of the County Address at 5 p.m. Thursday at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Business 3M Auditorium.

    He's expected to talk about "the challenges and opportunities in the current economy for public institutions, and the ways in which the county and the university can collaborate to share resources and best practices," county officials said.

    Don't worry if you can't attend: It will be broadcast Friday at 8 p.m. on Metro Cable Network/Channel 6. The producers of "The Ghost Whisperer" aren't too worried about losing viewers during that time slot.
