A Fergus Falls student wanted to take her special guy to prom, but school rules got in the way.
Molly Mandelke's guy is actually her husband, who is stationed with the U.S. Navy in San Diego and is scheduled for an Iraq tour this summer.
And he's too old for the prom, according to school officials, who pointed t the rule that says only juniors and seniors will be allowed to attend the prom, and that all guests, if out of school, must be under 20 years of age.
The Fergus Falls Daily Journal, which reported the story this week, doesn't give the husband's name or age, but he's over 20.
But there's a happy ending. Molly appealed to the school board, which made a one-time exception to the rule.
