    Ideas for unallotment? Governor wants to hear, via e-mail

    Although the unallotment process to be used by Gov. Tim Pawlenty to resolve the budget deficit will be top-down, without legislative action or public hearings, he said Tuesday that he will consult with his cabinet and staff in the process. And he says the last time he unallotted, he met with legislative committee chairs to get ideas.

    But there is a way for the public to weigh in on what gets cuts and what doesn't:

    An e-mail address has been set up for suggestions. It's budgetideas@state.mn.us.

    The governor said he hopes to have an outline of the cuts by July 1.
