    Former legislator Bill Haas is first Republican officially in governor's race

    It's Bill Haas. He's a former mayor of Champlin and served as a state representative from 1994 to 2004. He now owns an employee benefits company and is a part-time lobbyist for the White Earth Tribal Nation, helping with economic development projects.

    He opposes tax increases and promises to run a positive campaign.

    He won't be the last gubernatorial candidate to oppose tax increases and to promise a positive campaign.
