The Star Tribune today reiterates what we've known since oral arguments on June 1; we're all still waiting for the Minnesota Supreme Court to rule on Norm Coleman's appeal of a three-judge panel's decision that Al Franken deserves the election certificate to be Minnesota's second U.S. senator.
Thursdays are when the Supreme Court typically posts its opinions. This election matter isn't a typical case. The Franken-Coleman ruling can come at any time.
For those of you who like to continually refresh your web pages, go to the court's opinions page about 9:59 a.m. today and keep refreshing until 10 a.m. You'll be among the first on your block or in your office to know if the Supreme Court has weighed in ... or if we'll wait a bit longer.
By the way, the Senate will soon recess for the Fourth of July holiday. Even if the state Supreme Court rules today in his favor, it could be that Sen. Al Franken won't be sworn in until after Independence Day. But we'll cross that timing bridge later ... or sooner.
