A new Hennepin County website will track stimulus money coming from the federal government and show the progress of projects paid for by the funding.
It includes a status report about where projects are in the pipeline for funding, when funding is expected and when it has been awarded. Five areas are included: environment, health and human services, housing and urban development, justice, and transportation.
County officials say their goal is promote projects that create jobs, support a greener county and ensure transparency and accountability on the use of funds. As projects progress, information on the website will show the number of jobs generated and the impact of projects on the community.
The state has a stimulus website, too.
