Word just in that the only American Civil Liberties Union office in North Dakota was closed ... in February.
No mention in today's Fargo Forum story about the closing on why it took so long to figure this out.
North Dakotans needing the group's service now must call the Minneapolis office.
Executive Director Jennifer Ring lost her job when the office closed. She says the economic downturn hurt donations that had helped keep the office open. And many donors lost big money in the Bernie Madoff scam, she said.
The ACLU said Ring was one of 35 ACLU staffers laid off nationwide; North Dakota’s ACLU board has taken over many of her responsibilities.
