    FEC clears Coleman campaign of DFL charge

    The Federal Election Commission has completely cleared Norm Coleman's 2008 Senate campaign and the Republican Party of Minnesota on a complaint filed by the Minnesota DFL.

    Here's the full decision.

    According to an FEC release, the DFL alleged that the Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) made -- and Coleman for Senate ‘08, the Coleman Minnesota Recount Committee and the Republican Party of Minnesota received -- prohibited corporate contributions. The complaint also claimed that RNLA failed to register as a political committee and failed to disclose contributions on disclosure reports to the FEC.

    But the FEC found "no reason to believe" the allegations.
