    Mayor Chris Coleman's mother dies at 84

    Bridget Coleman, the mother of St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, died this afternoon.

    She was 84 and had been ill this winter. She'd been diagnosed with cancer, but the cause of death is still unknown.

    In addition to the mayor, she had six other children, including newspaper writer Nick Coleman. According to the mayor's website biography, she grew up on University and Farrington in St. Paul and was the owner of an Irish imports store while raising her family.
