With this afternoon’s deadline, candidates in Minnesota’s race for governor have begun distributing summaries of their campaign finance reports.
DFL-endorsed candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher beat the crowd Sunday, announcing that she had raised nearly $982,000 (PDF) this year, including $116,000 from lobbyists and $81,000 from PACs. She has $385,000 of cash on hand with two weeks to go until the Aug. 10 primary.
Republican-endorsed candidate Tom Emmer’s campaign announced today that it has raised more than $785,000 (PDF) this year, including $8,000 from lobbyists and nearly $18,000 from PACs. Emmer’s campaign has $296,000 in cash on hand.
Independence Party endorsee Tom Horner has raised nearly $190,000, but most of that came after the official launch of his campaign in May, according to a Horner spokesman. Horner has attracted $2,300 in lobbyist contributions and no PAC money. His cash on hand is about $27,500.
The Campaign Finance Board expects to post the reports of all candidates Tuesday morning.
