    Retired Judge Rosenbaum joins mediation and arbitration firm

    James Rosenbaum, who has retired after 25 years as a federal judge, will join the national JAMS mediation and arbitration firm in its new Minneapolis office.

    Starting Sept. 7, Rosenbaum will work out of the Accenture Tower, 333 S. 7th St.

    JAMS refers to its arbitrators and mediators as "neutrals." On its website, Rosenbaum is listed as the only Minneapolis neutral. Chicago has 20, mostly retired judges.

    In a statement, JAMS president and CEO Chris Poole said:  “For 25 years, he has earned a reputation as a fair and tough judge, is renowned for his quick wit, strong writing skills and intellect and we are very excited to have someone of his caliber join our team.”

    Rosenbaum is quoted: “It’s been an honor serving on the federal bench for so many years. I’m ready to start the next chapter in my professional journey and excited to join JAMS to continue using my dispute resolution skills.”

    Earlier this month, the Strib ran a nice profile of the former U.S. Attorney and long-time judge, who retired last week.
