The proponents of organized recess made a passable case that it's good for children. But the idea of orderly, structured, regimented recess seems counterintuitive. The value of recess — indeed, the joy of recess as I remember it — was the chaos of a free-for-all break from the discipline of the classroom.</p></div>

	<title><![CDATA[Tracking another October soaker]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<div class="richtext"><p>The rain on the Plains falls mainly on....Minnesota. At least this month. If we pick up another .80" or so we'll set a new October rainfall record. Just over 5" of rain has already soaked the region this month, 2-3 times the normal amount (yes, the drought is pretty much history).</p>
