No small feat: a walk to the podium

It's Day One of the Republican National Convention and downtown St. Paul is now a maze of detours, barricades and security checks, which makes getting inside the Xcel Energy Center no small feat. Everyone needs a credential, and some credentials will only get you so far.

In this video report, Minnpost's Roxane Battle runs into an array of security officers, including a brief encounter with the Secret Service, as she travels on foot from Cathedral Hill to the floor of the convention, to within just a few feet of the main podium.

And it only promises to get more complicated as the week goes on.
