Woodstock for science buffs?

Don’t laugh.
The grassroots here in Minnesota and around the country are stirring with plans to throw a big national science gala in Washington, D.C., next fall.
The goal for USA Science Festival is to ramp up to a national scale a festival which organizers say drew 200,000 people to a San Diego science fete this year. You can see a video recapping the San Diego event here.
San Diego entrepreneur Larry Bock is the lead organizer. I heard about the plans from Minnesotans who helped lead ScienceDebate2008, which also has ambitious plans to thrust science issues into the national dialog as the organization did in last year’s presidential race.
