Editor's Note: Some new features at MinnPost.com

MinnPost.com is now 20 weeks old, and going strong. We have had more than 100,000 unique visitors to the site in the past month, an increase of more than 50 percent over the previous month. We thank you all for your support.

During these 20 weeks, we have listened to your comments about the site and tracked what you read. Politics, public affairs and media are extremely popular, though arts, sports, health and other subjects are appreciated as well.

Readers like our commitment to original in-depth reporting and analysis. They also enjoy the immediacy that the online medium makes possible, the guidance from trusted editors about content elsewhere that is worth their time, and the occasional quirky, well-written story that won't change the world but can make their day.

Taking advantage of what we have learned, we are making some exciting changes to MinnPost.com this week.

Tuesday, we introduced The Daily Glean: a lively interpretive roundup each weekday of the latest news reported in our local media. Written most of the time by David Brauer, the Glean will examine and link to the stories that people are talking about around the water cooler, and the stories that might get talked about once they're noticed. Brauer will continue to write his popular Current Posts about the media business as well.

Wednesday we introduced Political Agenda, a new fast-breaking blog by MinnPost's team of politics and government reporters, and today we've added a highly respected baseball analyst, Aaron Gleeman, just in time for the Twins' season.

In the weeks and months to come, you'll see new reporters, new beats, and new community voices, as MinnPost.com continues to pursue its mission to produce the highest-quality journalism and commentary for people who care about Minnesota.

As always, we welcome your feedback, either in the form of comments at the end of this or any article, or by emailing me at jkramer [at] minnpost [dot] com. Thanks again for your support.
