    A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR

    Every MinnPost member counts

Last week I said here that we don't do Pledge Week — but MinnPost does need your financial support.

Two dozen readers of MinnPost.com responded to my note by deciding to make a voluntary annual donation for the first time. We now have 975 members — people like you who appreciate great journalists and great journalism. That is so close to a really grand number.

We won't interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to ask you to donate — just as we won't run intrusive ads that block your view or video ads that play without your permission. But for MinnPost to succeed, we do need your financial support. Please take this message seriously and make a contribution now. Thanks very much for your support.

    — Joel Kramer, editor and CEO

P.S. Everyone who becomes a member between now and Aug. 31 will be entered in a drawing for a pair of tickets to "Il Trovatore" at the Minnesota Opera in late September. Winner will be announced Sept. 2.
