Bremer Foundation gives MinnPost a grant

By Joel Kramer | Thursday, April 16, 2009

We are pleased to announce that the Otto Bremer Foundation has awarded MinnPost a one-year, $40,000 grant to support our coverage of Greater Minnesota.

Bremer joins the Blandin Foundation, which last year gave MinnPost a three-year, $225,000 grant for Greater Minnesota coverage and outreach.

MinnPost is committed to covering all regions of the state, focusing on stories that we believe will interest readers throughout the state. We aim to publish several major Greater Minnesota stories and/or Community Voices essays each week in addition to shorter posts.

Writers include free-lance journalists based in areas throughout the state, as well as metro journalists with interest in and experience covering Greater Minnesota issues, and opinion leaders who contribute to Community Voices. A Greater Minnesota Advisory Group helps us identify story ideas and trends.

Managing Editor Susan Albright supervises Greater Minnesota coverage. Readers are welcome to make story suggestions; email salbright [at] minnpost [dot] com.

Every Tuesday, we distribute a free email focusing on Greater Minnesota stories and posts to about 2,300 subscribers. The weekly email subscriber list has grown more than 45 percent since December. To subscribe, click here.

To go directly to our Greater Minnesota coverage, click on MN/Region in the navigation bar at the top of the home page. The Greater Minnesota box is on the upper right of the MN/Region page.
