THIRD IN A SERIES
Asian Meals on Wheels, supported by the Neighborhood House in St. Paul, delivers culturally specific food to the Hmong community, providing mid-day meals to 60 Hmong families in the Twin Cities.
The program received two grants last year for a combined $20,000 to keep the program afloat, but with the government cutting the program's state funding and major foundations having less to give, individual donations might not be enough to keep the program alive.
McKenna Ewen is a student journalist at the University of Minnesota. His entire project is available at TimesOfRecession.com.
Correction: The original version of this article, posted May 20, incorrectly reported the amount of grants Asian Meals on Wheels received last year. The program received two grants for a combined $20,000.
