A resolution in support of funding for a proposed 10-mile Chisholm ATV trail was unanimously approved by the Chisholm City Council today, reports Marie Tolonen in the Hibbing Daily Tribune. The story says, "The resolution supports a grant application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for the Federal Recreational Trail Grant Program for $88,000 in matching funds."

A group of Henderson residents is trying to stave off the closing of a popular snowmobile trail into town, but their prospects appear slim, writes Brian Ojanpa in the Mankato Free Press. He reports that snowmobile enthusiasts and Henderson business people met Monday "to try to get some answers regarding how best to fight the closure."

"Data released Monday show 101 single-family houses in the St. Cloud area were sold in October — slightly more than the 96 sold in October last year," reports Britt Johnsen in the St. Cloud Times. However, the story says, "the median home price shows a continued decline."

Kurt Hildebrandt reports in the St. Peter Herald that representatives from the cities of St. Peter and Mankato met last week with a group of touring Minnesota state legislators who are part of committee that is considering a $400,000 request for study and design work for a proposed bike trail between the two cities.

Debra Fitzgerald of the Pipestone County Star reports that "of the approximate 100 people who turned out for the City Council meeting Monday evening, 21 people took the podium." All who spoke said they didn't want the city to sell land in Harmon Park for a Coborn's Superstore, she reports.
