Rowan Scarborough of the Washington Times reports President-elect Obama may not ask Congress to repeal the military's ban on openly gay and lesbian personnel until he confers with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and his new political appointees at the Pentagon to reach a consensus. "I think 2009 is about foundation building and reaching consensus," states Aubrey Sarvis, executive director of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network. Read the article here.
