    Ripple effect weighed if 7th District Rep. Collin Peterson were to become ag chief

    More speculation that Democrtatic Rep. Collin Peterson could be named secretary of agriculture, this time with The Hill wondering if that might mean a new Minnesota Republican in Congress.

    That's because Peterson's 7th District could go red if Peterson joins the Obama administration. Same thing with another potential ag secretary, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, a Democrat from South Dakota. Both have ag experience and come from Republican-leaning districts, the paper said.
