Minneapolis City Coordinator Steve Bosacker planning to leave
Minneapolis City Coordinator Steve Bosacker has asked Mayor R. T. Rybak not to re-appoint him to the job he has held since 2006.
Bosacker has worked for the city since 2004, when he was hired to start up the city information line 311.
“He is so smart and such an ambassador for us,” said City Council President Barb Johnson, “it will be hard to replace him."
Johnson said she worried about him because he worked so hard. It was not unusual to find him at his desk on a Sunday.
As city coordinator, Bosacker oversaw the establishment of business plans for all 18 of the city’s departments, a program known as Results Minneapolis. He also directly supervised the city’s six management departments.
Johnson said 311 and Results Minneapolis are “the signature initiatives he’ll look back on as really important. And they were.”
Bosacker plans to take a year away from work to travel around the world.
