Whatever deal that was entered into with the Native Americans years ago needs to be reformed, immediately. It is a complete travesty that they have an exclusive monopoly on gambling in this state. We all know the elephant in the room, which is that they have rich and powerful lobbyists that make sure that things are kept the way they are. I understand and am sympathetic to what their culture and race have been through in the past. But they need to "throw us a bone". They will still...
Take it easy. Yes, these comments were a little uncalled for. However, I believe what the site's founder was basing it on was the demographics at the Ramsey county public hearings, which both him and I were at. A majority of the opponents were age 65 or older, and some stressed that they were on fixed incomes and could not afford the half cent sales tax option to fund Ramsey county's share. Due to the overwhelming opposition to the sales tax, it has since been taken off the table.
