I would say that education and transportation are more than just "interest groups."

Both these essential components of government have been shortchanged by Governor Pawlenty and they show it. Our lack of investment cannot be covered up by borrowing/bonding forever. Progressive taxation helped make Minnesota a great state and it can again when we get over this very strange ideology and return to common-sense money management.

Billions upon billions of dollars in military aid to Israel hardly seems to be a "hands off" policy, but rather our sponsorship of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories AND its military actions against the people of Gaza and Lebanon.

If this meeting is a signal from the Bush administration that it, in its heart, wants to see justice for the Palestinian people as well as the Israelis, I wish them success. And I hope they will recommend that Israel accept the Arab plan...

I'm afraid this conference is doomed to failure. Mr. Abbas was not elected president but has instead been named president by the so-called Quartet.

Residents of Gaza and all members of Hamas are being shut out. They see Abbas as an unelected leader who may or may not be willing to sacrifice them to attain safety for the balance of Palestinians. The governor's allegiance is obviously to the no-tax pledge instead of to the Constitution of the State of Minnesota or its people. He has done a lot of damage in a few years by refusing to tax and spend fairly instead of to follow the Norquist anti-government creed. Might that be impeachable?
