No -Love song for GK

You are dreary
Make me weary

But I'll let J Alfred Prufrock
paraphrase for me...

"You grow old, you grow old,
you wear the bottom of your eyelids rolled..."

Give me a break, for your god's sake.

David Graham is a rare one...his views reflecting a sensitivity to the spirit or soul of an urban neighborhood.

Do only wish Duluth had such a planner/architect poet/philosopher... all embracing and respecting that sense of neighborhood... as the city here is slowly eroding the gem of this city, turning a most unique urban space - an 'island' community called Park Point/ Minnesota Point into a hotel/condo nightmare; incompatible to traffic and water and sewage issues yet unsolved;...

Posted on 11/02/13 at 06:09 am in response to A Frank Lloyd Wright geek searches for his gems in metro area

Correct me if I'm wrong but were some of Wright house designs structurally weak; unsustainable as-is?

When any professional as Wright cannot surpass his own bloated ego, that profession needs to reevaluate where the greatness?

The 60's trimmed back; creating cold living spaces that suffered from a form of 'modular dystrophy'...boxes, off-white and gray with a splash of color to distract from all that purity?

One could say those who benefit most are members of the...

Posted on 10/25/13 at 07:49 am in response to Can condos make a comeback In the Twin Cities?

Not to worry...if condos proliferate beyond their need initiated by wise or greedy investors/developers, it may be the rise of a new form of affordable housing; always alternative clients out there waiting

...and if all else fails, could be recycled as shelters for the poor and homeless?

Even the name Stonebridge seems appropriate although Under the Bridge may become it's alternative 'clients, who knows...a place to hang your hat or a shelter from the storm; whichever way the...

Isn't it time see the man at the top of the article in a orange jumpsuit and a number across his chest? Front and side profile. No touch-up photos please.

We're talking children here; abused for life and those who protect pedophiles rather then turn them in are no better?

We are yet not a theocracy. Criminal intent is the issue and should be treated as such.

Thank you Eric Black for placing Warren's speech here - a rare gem - words that will never be forgotten...words to give us hope in a time of doubt.

...and words too that will drain the ink out of my printer as I copy one copy to improve more than our first cup of morning coffee.

Congress still has a few worth applauding, oh yes.

Posted on 10/12/13 at 06:45 am in response to Sen. Elizabeth Warren: 'We are not a country of anarchists'

We may not be a country of anarchists but Republicans have proved themselves to be a congress of fools.

It's like a game for them now...a power game; who wins, who loses...the people are only the least relevant object not the subject of their game playing...

Republican as viable party has lost it's credibility with Boehner their willing mascot. Sad state of the nation....

Wonderful history piece that draws much also from the personal histories added by comments/readers.

A place I never knew; never explored. Yet, does reflect the early settlement, twin landscape Mpls Bohemia Flats that I remember when some of its dwellings still remained.

Where's the story here? A small town bar trying to make some bucks with a couple local worn- thin political figures? Sponsored by Coors?

Local coloratura in this village national, world interest? Is that all there is?

Funny thing how Bachmann claims she is a believer in who-or is it whom?

Sounds like a caricature of J.C. as M.B's vision looks more like a creature with a horns and a red tail?

Her powers of prophesy are weak indeed . Best I can least she's consistent.

Now, back to raking those dead fig leaves off the boulevard,eh?
