MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
Martin Sabo is a plainsman with his roots in the soil of North Dakota and his political ambitions, Minnesota...and has gained respect as a 'liberal' among Progressives from his past liberal allegiances.
Maybe he has to do a little more explaining?
Been awhile since I sipped the brew: Blue Mountain is a rare and expensive coffee bean. Makes a rich cup that probably still costs a pretty penny...
But Blue Mountain Group is another brew; a security group out of UK, Welsh outfit who were hired to guard The Benghazi compound...untrained locals paid four bucks an hour ? And one guard hired locally...a school teacher who spoke English but didn't know anything about a gun? Are these only careless rumors from the blogo-sphere sans...
...So like a dominant figure waiting in the shadows, US world policy antics creep into the macrame of mixed messages as the dust rises beyond Benghazi failures to Mali, to the African country of Niger... as the Wash Post detailed a few days ago,"Here come the drones!" to a base being established in Niger....so what's next as American involvement escalates?
Another Vietnam on the horizon?
Or think of it this way...'Question" is an active word or should be; whatever be our...
Consider what "a great honor and privilege" that such a statesman from Minnesota as Jim Oberstar, should offer his services.... "an emphasis on high speed rail and more hands-on approach to aviation security'".
One can most graciously applaud Oberstar's willingness to contribute his wealth of experience.
"...As long as the roots are not severed, all is well. And all will be well in the garden", Chance Gardiner, "Being There"
Nothing like the big picture, Minnesota investigative style?
Nothing more than a dead-end, speculative piece; tabloid rerun that contributes little, to top the weekend headlines here...wow.
Must be a few political 'experts' around who could do a back-to-back debate on Mali and US involvement; responsibility, accountability...historical timeline etc, and will it become our next Vietnam?
Early on a cold morning I search for something to enlighten against the background of this still dark, frigid scene beyond the window, and my 'elder' eyes not functioning as well without the initial cup of tea, I notice the two-shoe pic and silently champion, ah, someone else wears mismatched socks on a rare occasion - washers eat them by the way.
Then, I see the other two legs. First perceptions often have a secondary story to tell...neat story again, by the way
Cohen certainly sounds like one valid and valuable watch dog attorney.
Uff Dah Duluth:
Now I wonder about Duluth and do hope finger-on-the-power structure, like any Duluth city attorney has the same spirit of political correctness regarding development, planning, etc.?
Conflict-of-interest...will have to check this out, although am sure such fuzzy politics could never happen here .
Then again,"Seems like never a day goes by, but..." as my long dead Great Aunt...
Get it straight this time...Com. Cohen sounds like an attorney and the city attorney sounds like just another attorney and excusing recusing too often seems like a bad habit that possibly could be categorized as the highest and best use demonstrating poor planning?
I cannot say enough 'positives' about the one rescue group out of the Twin Cities that indirectly had been the initial contact with my brother's dog Diego. A Missouri 'import' ready to be put down, with lots of health problems which cleared up before adoption, and yes, found it reassuring knowing dogs rejected at some point in their lives would be carefully placed in a home that fitted the dog and his new owners.
Everybody loves a dog but that sense of attachment sometimes wears...
