Besides the nominal health impact "fee," Minnesota has not raised taxes since the sales tax increase of 1991. In fact, we cut the income tax in 1999 and 2000. The result? Our economy is doing better than Wisconsin (see above).
So why risk that by raising taxes?
On the one hand Dayton brags about our economy, on the other he rips the last 10 years to build support for raising taxes. He can't have it both ways.

Is Senator Hann supposed to agree with Dayton and the DFL now because we lost the election? I don't remember the DFL agreeing with the GOP after their overwhelming defeat in the 2010 legislative elections. And if you repeat a lie about property taxes going up during the election and win, does the lie then become the truth?

Dayton's charts and graphs certainly proved his point that the rich don't pay what he considers their fair share in taxes. What we need to see is charts showing his solution actually raises the revenue he claims. I think last week's PIM story debunked his plan and now it looks like the Revenue Department will concur.
It was telling that 90% of his time today was spent on the revenue side. He is really running for Tax Collector, not Governor.
