Posted on 11/13/12 at 08:02 pm in response to GOP's election woes analyzed by Tim Penny and Steve Sviggum

Why can't Sviggum and the rest of the GOP pull their heads out of the sand? With T-Paw and a GOP-controlled legislature the past 2 years, there was an absolute "my way or the highway" mentality. And, Sviggum is worried about 2 years of DFL control. I do not think it has much to do with negative ads and spending, especially considering spending by Bachmann and the Super PAC's. The truth is people are sick of the GOP message of jobs, jobs, jobs....but all anyone sees is legislation...

Karin (#4),

They were hiking, not only in a war zone, but on the border of a country considered hostile. Would you go there? would you allow your children to go there?

Simply not true does not even express my beliefs of how unfriendly St Paul is towards cyclists. Are there any designated bike lanes in downtown? (Not that it matters as there is really nothing going on downtown.)

It appears to me that this bike friendly designation is a joke as cities had to apply for it. Where is Minneapolis? What about Portland? Steamboat Springs and Breckenrdge, CO, are resort towns. Give me a break.

Just another example of a lesser city's attempt at...

Posted on 09/15/11 at 11:42 pm in response to The Twins' worst season ever?

It's refreshing to read someone young that actually understands and appreciates the game. Thank you. Baseball is what it is. The numbers that Mr. Gleeman speak for themselves. The one thing that he did not point out is that numbers in baseball have a way of evening out. No matter how bad a season some Twins are having, Mauer, Morneau, et al, will come around. As for the fielding, I am not so sure. The Twins' front office needs to address this situation, I believe, ASAP as this is out...

If only his team were in the playoffs, he could have tried to get out of it. He may never get that chance.

Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen, would do well to research similar opinions of those that denied the existence of acid rain. Maybe his beautiful Lake Ida will be no more. Maybe it will be for his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.... What a legacy that would be when it no longer is "beautiful Lake Ida.".

Rich,

I believe Lambert had his tongue firmly planted in his cheek when her referred to a right-wing blogger as a peer-reviewed climatologist. In the case of the Daily Glean, the author, to me, has always posted news stories pertinent to Minnesota, and often commented on, but not reported the stories.

Mr. Rose,

Was it legal to carry a weapon in that parking lot? Usually there are posted limits/restrictions regarding the allowance of carrying a weapon on such a property.
The guy sounds as though he may have been set up - almost desperate. Who is so naive, and uneducated about their candidates to vote for this ilk?
Oh yeah, they are in the same district that voted overwhelmingly for Bachmann

If Sr. Swift gives "every day" (but not monetarily) does that not make him a welfare recipient? Socialism is good for Swifty but not for anyone else? Thumbs up, Lora! Apparently it is no big deal for Mr. Swift to to gain from the public good, but a much different tale when he speaks of others....Hmmm?
