Posted on 07/19/12 at 08:28 pm in response to Another herbal supplement (milk thistle) is found to be ineffective

I believe you wrote an article about this reasearch a while back (http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=study-suggests-common-kne) regarding the effect of knee surgery in alleviating the pain of osteoarthritis.

The problem I see has been mentioned in several of your articles, how do we know when the...

This is where growing up without knowing much about Catholicism really becomes confusing. Isn't the Pope the dictator of the church? Wasn't there a reformation because people didn't agree with the pope?

I agree with her point of view on focusing on poverty. I really just don't understand why she would want to be in that particular Church. There really are so many other communities to choose from.

I read another overview of this report at Common Dreams. http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2012/03/29-8 I find the emphasis of the various authors of the overviews interesting. Everything seems to be drowning in cronyism and corruption these days.

Thanks for trying to help people stay informed. I may decide that "moderate"...

In my family ageing isn't the issue, it is the fact that hot flashes can occur multiple times during the day and cause disturbed sleep at night. The hot flashes and the resulting groggy days from disrupted sleep are the only reason anyone in my family sought medical treatment for menopause. If you know of a way to lose the hot flashes that would be great!

I drink Kombucha because I like it. I tended to think of it as "beer for tea drinkers". In other words I am no more likely to accept the claims that it is good for my health than I believed that other fizzy flavored tablets dropped in water would keep me from catching a cold.

Although I under stand the concerns that a new fad might be dangerous, according to the article the greatest dangers were associated with home brewing. How dangerous is home fermenting things in general? no...
