MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
So, pregnancy is prima facie evidence that a rape was not "legitimate"? Great news for the criminal defense bar! Added to "she was asking for it," "she was dressed like a tramp," and "she only said 'no' four times" we need never convict another rapist.
Granted, it's far easier to send money to ALEC than it is to make a sound argument in favor of the voter ID amendment.
Thanks for citing Franken's election victory. It's a great example of how voter fraud is a non-issue in Minnesota. Given the time, money (other people's money, as it turns out) and effort the Republican party expended trying to overturn the election results, you'd think that any examples of voter misidentification (the only kind of voter fraud that could even remotely be impacted by the voter ID amendment) would have been quickly uncovered and thoroughly reported. And how many were there...
Oh I get it, we need to amend the Constitution so we can require voter ID so we can determine if there's any need for voter ID. Thanks for the clarification.
So, the 2nd Amendment grants the "feckless, too mentally disabled or chemically dependent, or simply disconnected" an unfettered right to own guns, supposedly to protect themselves from our own government, but they have no such right to simply vote for the government of their choice? Talk about your "dirty secrets".
The only thing you've succeeded in doing, Tom, is demonstrating your utter contempt for your fellow citizens, and democracy in general.
Well then, how about the "uneducated, uninformed, uninvolved, feckless"?
Is there really any question that the constant drum-beat of hate and fear in the media, including the emanations of drum-majorette Bachmann, serves to validate the delusions of paranoid people and inspire their violent behavior?
Hate to spoil your fun, but the murder rate in Chicago (as well as all major US cities) is dramatically lower than in recent years. So all that "culture of dependency," as you call it, appears to be actualy lowering crime. Thank you Democrats and community organizers!
Thanks to modern medicine, anxiety, depression and a host of other ailments can be treated with great success. Unfortunately, we are years away from a cure for stupid.
