Don't feed the troll!
Gingrich is the one ignorant of history if he is trying to pass those two anecdotes off as "our economy is great! anyone can make it!"
It really is funny that he can point to TWO people and make a generalization about the economy of a nation of hundreds of millions of citizens.
To buy Gingrich's statement is to not critically look at REAL history: not the "greats" but people, social movements, institutions, and individuals who acted as lynchpins and focal points for others....
In ten years Bachmann will be caught hiding in the bushes at the inauguration of our first lesbian president.
True story.
It's amusing until you hear it for the 50th time then it merely becomes annoying. The other day I had someone try to tell me that Obama is a true socialist. When I asked if he could prove that, he told me that an economist had studied Obama's policies and decided that he was attempting to destroy the US's economy in order to overthrow the capitalist system. he even gave me a pamphlet to read on the subject.
How can you argue with logic like that?
I wonder how long she'll stay in. Bachmann's ego is large enough that I believe she will stay in until at least next summer. She can write off bad polls as a lamestream media conspiracy. The only thing she can't write off is the fact that she is running out of cash. The major question seems to be will her big-money donors stick with her as she nosedives into the footnotes of history.
Hahahaha.. that's a good one. The government waging "all out war" against wealthy Americans(should I say "successful Americans" instead? Because, apparently, wealthy people are successful people.. like, Denny Hecker!)
Hahahahaaa ... "all out war." Good stuff.
Oh no Bradlee's show got cancelled?! How's he supposed to pay for his track suits and head bandanas now?
Oh wait..his "You can run but you can't hide" posse will just ambush people at suburban gas stations and ask for donations ala the "oh my car has a flat and I need ten bucks for a can of fix-a-flat" pan-scamdlers.
That's how I had my first taste of this jerk and his lackeys two years ago after a day at Afton. Some brain-washed illiterate approached my girlfriend and I as we...
Nice use of weasel words in this piece. The all mysterious "they" are at it again. As in: "They said rather then celebrate a death we should mourn..." These people who are comparing those who cheered on bin Laden's death as being similar to those who celebrated when the towers came down.
They being who exactly?
Progressives? That seemed to be the brunt of this essay. Those elitist liberals staring down their noses again!
Gimme a break.
As if it's not okay to have...
Wow! Bachmann has gone from being a crazy lady hiding in the bushes during a pro-GLBT rights rally at the capitol to being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world in what, six years??
Who are we gonna elect to office next? The diaper astronaut lady?
Okay, metaphor deconstruction time: I get that the wagon in Emmer's soundbyte refers to Minnesota's government (right?). What are the horses? The taxpayers? Political leaders? Bureaucrats?
Anyhoo, no wonder the Clydesdales wanna climb into their wagon -- that's where the beer is.
