MinnPost is a nonprofit, nonpartisan enterprise whose mission is to provide high-quality journalism for news-intense people who care about Minnesota.
Donations and pledges totaling $25,000 or more have been made by each of the families and foundations listed. For a list of all donors by category, see our most recent Year End Report.
I'm calling it a tax increase. But I'll happily pay it.
I don't think that merging two dinosaur retail models necessarily yields a better outcome. Are they going to sell more flat screen TV's?
I think brick and mortar stores should downsize and take advantage of bulk shipping rates and customer service to beat online retailers. I order many goods online and almost always take advantage of the deliver to store option if it offers free or cheaper shipping than to the door.
If they did more of this, they could offer a greater...
But Target will be quick to sell you a extended warrantee on a product that you could buy cheaper in a year if it breaks. Then they'll offer you a credit card and use predictive analytic to see if you're pregnant so they can sell you diapers. It's hardly about service anymore.
The ratings and comments on amazon rock, especially if there are a lot on a product. Anything over 4 stars at a reasonable price with good comments gets my attention.
“Top state Republicans sent St. Cloud State College Republicans a message: Allow firebrand preacher Bradlee Dean to speak and you may not get Republican jobs in the future."
I didn't know that the GOP had money to give out jobs much less pay the rent, unless you're talking about the state jobs like Brodkorb held.
But yet we prioritize funding for court security in Hennepin Suburban misdemeanor courts, all based on a Judges "fear." And I'm not even going to the amount of taxes Minneapolis will put toward a Vikings stadium. I wonder how many more three year olds will have to get killed for us to pay attention to safety in North Minneapolis?
I wonder if there will be any shifting back to central cities and a change where poverty will be located.
dies with a wimper because legislators know the public doesn't want to pay for it and are unwilling to take a vote.
He gave us free will for a reason. It's up to us to decide what to do with it.
Anybody else see channel 5's news last night were Stenglien was talking about Hennepin County's "secret" plan to use county tax to put the stadium on the Farmers Market site? I think it is a conflict of interest for Stenglien to be voting on this when he just took a job heading the downtown council on June 1. Stenglien was also the fourth vote for the Twins Stadium Tax. So who is he working for?
